The Evergreen Conditioning System is a year-round online conditioning program built specifically for hockey players who want to improve their engine, increase their top speed, and stay game-ready throughout the season.

Whether you're playing club hockey, preparing for representative selection, or competing in Masters, Evergreen gives you the structure to train smarter, recover better, and keep improving all year.

  • Built specifically for field hockey

  • Four progressive training phases

  • Train anywhere with gym access

  • Designed for all seasons from off-season, to pre-season, to in-season.

Most Hockey Players Don't Have a Talent Problem.

They Have a Planning Problem.

Every season follows a familiar pattern: You finish pre-season feeling fit and motivated... the season starts well.

Then work gets busy, life gets in the way.

Training becomes inconsistent, gym sessions disappear.

Recovery gets neglected.

Small aches become bigger problems and by the end of the season, you're simply trying to hold onto the player you were a few months earlier.

It isn't because you're lazy or because you're getting older.

It's because nobody ever taught you how to train throughout an entire hockey season.

Evergreen was built to solve that problem.

Hockey Isn't Played in One Phase.

Your Training Shouldn't Be Either.

Most fitness programs give you the same workouts every week.

Hockey doesn't work like that.

Your body needs different things before the season, during the season, after tournaments, and during recovery periods.

Evergreen follows a structured yearly system that adapts with your season so your training always matches your goals.

Instead of guessing what to do every week, you'll always have the next step waiting for you.

The Evergreen Method

Every phase has a purpose.

Every session builds toward better hockey performance.

Phase 1: Build

Develop conditioning foundation needed to perform throughout the season.

Phase 2: Prepare

Shift your training toward the demands of hockey.

Increase conditioning, improve repeat sprint ability, and prepare your body for competition.

Phase 3: Perform

Maintain strength while competing, stay explosive and recover better between games. Avoid losing the physical qualities you worked so hard to build.

Phase 4: Reset

Recover from the season, address weaknesses. Restore movement. Prepare to start building again. The goal isn't just one good season. It's becoming a better hockey athlete every year.

What Makes Evergreen Different?

Most training plans focus on exercises.

Evergreen focuses on outcomes, every session has a purpose.

Every exercise solves a problem, every phase builds on the last.

That means you're never doing random workouts or wondering whether your training is helping your hockey.

You're building the complete athlete.

WHO THIS PROGRAM IS FOR

A hockey player 18+

who wants to stay sharp, fast, and competitive all year—not just during the season.

A busy parent/professional

who has limited time but still wants to train in a way that directly improves hockey performance.

An older athlete (30+)

who refuses to let agebe an excuse, and wants to prove you can still outpace the younger guys.

a player coming bACK FROM A BREAK/SETBACK

who needs structure to rebuild fitness without burning out or getting injured.

Someone sick of generic gym programs

and wants a system that’s built specifically for the demands of field hockey.

Example: James, 38, father of two and a manager at a construction firm.

He plays weekend hockey but was struggling with fitness, constantly sore, and couldn’t keep up with the younger players. With Evergreen, he trains 3 short sessions per week, feels stronger, and now dominates late in games instead of fading out.

This program is for you if:

You already train, but feel like your conditioning drops as the season goes on

You’re tired of starting every year fit, then slowly losing speed or sharpness

You want structure instead of guessing how hard to push

You care about staying competitive long-term, not just surviving the season

This program is not for you if:

You only train when the season starts

You’re looking for shortcuts or quick fixes

You ignore recovery and expect your body to “just handle it”

You won’t follow a structured approach

What players are saying

Joey Stam

National-level Masters Player, in-season training

Legs getting stronger and noticing the difference that makes during 2nd half of games. Also general increase in (cardio) fitness.

Fran Hilll

Club-level player, off-season training

Have definitely improved my acceleration during game plau and being able to complete repetitive sprints throughout the game a lot more with much less fatigue.

Jasmine Singh

Club-level player, in-season training

The online program has allowed me to gradually increase my speed, stamina and strength. I’ve been able to challenge myself both physically and mentally to get closer to my goals. It was a great experience with so many things to learn. I loved the way the program held me accountable to complete workouts and do what I needed to do for the day.

Damien Chown

Club-level player, in-season training

The online aspect is really useful as if I happen to go away I can still follow my program. Currently we are starting testing for my off season training so we can assess where I’m at and what I can improve upon for next year which is obviously extremely useful for me as it helps me stay focused and excited to train.

Dean Waters

International Masters Player, busy working parent & competitive player

The online program has given me the freedom to travel to remote parts of Australia while allowing me to train and maintain my fitness. Where otherwise I would have not been training.

Jane Reid

National Masters player, in-season training

Got through Nationals injury free - felt pretty strong and confident in my body.

Why I Built Evergreen

For more than twenty years I've played and coached hockey at elite levels.

I've seen talented players miss opportunities because they didn't know how to train outside of hockey practice.

I've also seen players extend their careers simply because they trained with purpose.

That's why I created Evergreen.

Not as another fitness program.

But as a system that helps hockey players train smarter throughout the entire year.

Whether your goal is representative selection, winning club competitions, or continuing to compete in Masters hockey, the objective remains the same.

Leep improving.

Keep competing.

Keep enjoying the game.

STILL NOT SURE?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a gym for this program?

No. The program includes both gym-based and at-home options. You’ll be able to follow it no matter what equipment you have.

I’m over 35. Is this program too intense for me?

Not at all. The program has built-in progressions, so you’ll train at the right level for your body. Many players over 30, 35, and even 40+ are already thriving on it.

Can I start if my season already began or when my season is already over?

Yes. The program is flexible all parts of the season—you’ll be able to train in a way that supports you without overloading your body.

What if I don’t have much time to train?

The sessions are designed to fit into a busy schedule. Most workouts take 30–45 minutes, and you can adjust around your week.

The training is structured to strengthen common weak points and reduce injury risk. Plus, there are modification options if something doesn’t feel right.

Is this just a pre-season program?

No. Evergreen is designed to support you before, during, and after the season, adjusting training demands so you’re not peaking too early or burning out mid-year.
